My name is Meanz [pronounced like Mince]. I live in Des Moines, Iowa. I am a creative and a blogger. I enjoy art, design, fashion, and cats.
Why Koi Story?
Well, as you can see, my tattoo represents the story of a koi transforming into a phoenix. According to my parents, the story goes if a koi is able to swim up a waterfall and overcome all the obstacles along the way, then it becomes a dragon. I chose a phoenix because a phoenix is the female counterpart of a dragon. It expresses my femininity and gives me a sense of empowerment. Also, as an artist, I have always been inspired by Japanese art and tattoos and I've always wanted a koi tattoo. I have never seen anything like this done before and that is an incredible feeling as well, to have a somewhat original piece of art permanently on my body. Well, I'm honored, to say the least. To me, it' symbolizes my culture as well as the idea that if I work hard, I can overcome all the obstacles and get to where I want to in life. This is my koi story.
