Black Swan

So I just went and saw Black Swan tonight. A little late to see it, I know, but I absolutely loved it, especially the grainy picture and the emotional impact. The movie was definitely a trip gone wrong. It freaked me out because I was watching a delicate person plunging into insanity because of her obsession with perfection. Rodarte did an amazing job on the costumes. I was completely blown away. Also that dress that Natalie Portman wore when she was announced as the new Swan Queen at the party was breathtaking.

My boyfriend (A flashback)

WARNING: PICTURE HEAVY!

So I decided one day a couple months ago, my boyfriend and I needed some new pictures together and I had also recently gotten a self-timer remote, so it was the perfect opportunity. So, we set off to find somewhere that would be secluded so that other people wouldn't get in the shot. We started following railroads and finally found one in the middle of nowhere that was perfect here are the results:

what i wore: green hat from Urban Outfitters, black dress w/ hearts and black knee high socks from  H&M (one of my favorite articles of clothing), belt taken from another top, blue tights from Target, and black wedges Blowfish from DSW

So I had been seeing a lot of people on lookbook.nu wearing knee high socks with their booties and I thought I'd try it. It's a fantastic idea. I feel like it lengthens my legs and also wearing the same color of socks and wedges gave the illusion I was wearing knee-high boots! This is one of my favorite dresses. I got it when I ventured to Minneapolis for a weekend getaway with my boyfriend. I don't have an H&M in Iowa so I load up on things when I am around an H&M store since I cannot buy online.

Another reason for this post is because I haven't done much today. I have been sleeping a lot because I took my boyfriend to the airport this morning at 5AM. He's going to be in Canada for a week and I will miss him!

I have a lot more photos on flickr too, you can check them out here.

I would love to hear your opinions of my blog so far!

Ultra Violet

what I wore: hat is my brother's, cream cape from Forever 21, yellow diamond patterned shirt secondhand from Goodwill, black leggings and gray knee-high boots from Target

So I decided to change up my hair a little bit and this is how it turned out. Purple tips. Well, anyway, I like it for now. I'll probably try more colors too down the line. This is fun! So, this is what I've been doing all day.

Grey lace and hookahs

what I wore: ruffle black sweater from Forever 21, gray lace dress, black leggings, Mulberry bag, gray socks, and pink belt, Liberty of London (it's from another dress) from Target, and Blowfish black wedges from DSW

I wanted to go for a neutral outfit today. I also just bought this dress a couple of days ago at Target on sale for $11.00, can't really beat that. I love sales.

My friend Lauren and I went to a few places to check out hookahs yesterday and I settled on one from Egyptian Treasures. I also bought her a grinder. We also went to Sally's to get some hair lightener and purple manic panic because I am dying my tips. I can't wait to see how it turns out! I will post pictures!

Here's my boyfriend, David. He's so cute in this hat.

Here is my beautiful new hookah. I got it because it reminded me of Jasmine from Aladdin because of the color. David and I picked up some Wild Mango and Strawberry flavored tobacco for it. The wild mango was delicious.

Here is a gif I made:

He can blow smoke rings, I wish I could. I did feel like the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland though!

It's been a while

what I wore: sequin hat, a scarf, black skinnies and brown sweater from Forever 21 and a striped dress and Dolce Vita boots from Target

Rachel's cat has gotten so fat, but she's still the most adorable thing ever! We went to Pet Co. and got her a new toy. You can see it a little bit, but it's a fake little furry mouse inside a ball and when it rolls the mouse squeaks. I think shes afraid of it. I also got a giant bone that's probably about 3 feet or so for Bella. She's afraid of it because my mom accidentally hurt her with it while they were playing.

The best purchase of the day were the panda hats that we got at a kiosk at the mall. They're so adorable and so warm and hilarious. I also love pandas. What do you think?

Rachel got me Dre's Monster Beats Solo headphones for Christmas + my birthday present! I love the amazing sound quality of these headphones. Also the sleek look is to die for and gorgeous. I cannot wait to use these during next semester. They are much needed and I hate ear buds because they make my ears hurt.

In the daylight everywhere feels like home

what i wore: thick knit hat from Urban Outfitters, print dress + belt from Francesca's Collection, black sweater, black leggings, Mulberry bag, Dolce Vita black lace-up boots from Target

I love how high-end designers design lines for Target. It gives people without a lot of money the opportunity to purchase cute, chic and inexpensive "name-brands". I don't care much about the brand and moreso about the products. Anyways, I walked in to Target to basically stock up on socks (which I did, knee-high AND no-shows) but I ended up buying a Diet Coke sweatshirt (I had to) and the shoes and the purse, I mean they work for me and they worked with my outfit, which made me happy.

I also tried out the new Extra Dessert Delight gum in Mint Chocolate Chip and it is amazing. I love it so much. It helps too because I am trying to lose weight. Quitting smoking has made me into a food fiend and it is horrible. The good news is, it has been 26 days since I quit. I still crave one every once in a while, but even more now that I'm gaining weight.

I also got some Tazo black, chai and calm tea and some honey of course.

My favorite lunch/breakfast as of late: A bagel with light cream cheese and egg whites with some salt and pepper and a little mild low-fat shredded cheddar. Delish.
