This dress is awesome. I feel like it's more of a Fall/Winter dress because of the weight, but I had to try it out. It's so comfortable and I am really loving the cowl neck. These photos are from before my San Jose trip. I only have one post from that trip and it will happen soon! I am on Day 2 of my juice fast, and I'm not exactly sure how long I want to keep it up, but it's going pretty strong, except for the fact that I already miss solid fruits and vegetables. It's fun trying out new combinations though. Anyways, I just really want to start getting healthy!

Any tips on juicing? Have you or would you try it?

When life gives you lemons

This is the dress of my dreams. What more would I want? These are the last photos I took on my Canon Rebel T1i before it broke on me. I have made a few changes for this summer. My brother helped me get a budget app and plan out my budget for each month so that I can get on track with my finances. I dropped my painting class, as sad as that is, it will allow me to do a lot more this summer, and try to figure out a way to make a little extra money. Oh, and I need to start playing around with my tablet and I just feel like there is so much to do, I just don't know where to start.

Also, I will be on my way to San Jose, California to see my grandma with my family today until Tuesday.

Also, I haven't posted in a couple of days. I've been dealing with an unfortunate event. My beloved Canon Rebel T1i isn't working anymore. I had to buy a new camera so I upgraded to a Canon Rebel T2i. It ended happily, and this time I bought 3 years worth of insurance with this new camera and although I have to sell a few things to pay for this camera. I'm ok with it!

Ever broken a camera? Tell me about your experience. It was pretty upsetting.

I've been really happy lately. I think it's because I've been able to see some of my best friends and we've all been able to hang out even if it was just for last night. We are all going to be going our separate ways soon for the summer, but it was fun while it lasted! Yesterday a few of us went to the "beach" or what we call a beach here in Iowa at Saylorville. It was a fun, quiet and secluded little place, and I got a little bit of sun. Then last night we went out to The Lift, and later to Fong's. I think it was just nice getting to see everyone and what they are up to!

Anyways, this outfit is from a few days ago. I wore it to work. I really like this dress, and I still cannot believe that it was a thrift find!

Ri Knows Best

Here’s the thing… I used to work in the beauty industry. No, I wasn’t a celebrity make-up artist and no, I never touched a runway model. So, it’s natural that some might ask, “Who is this wannabe giving me advice about make-up?” Others might be thinking, “Damn, this guy is sexy and I want to get in his pants.” It’s all good. The truth is I worked mostly as a sales executive and partly as a make-up artist. What does this mean to you? Well mama, it means that I know all the bull shitake mushrooms that every sales person flings on your face when you walk into the beauty department. Yes, that haggard looking lady telling you how beautiful you look is lying to you. As she’s stroking your ego, she is lining her pockets with your money. You leave the store with a new confidence until you get in the car, look in the rearview mirror, and realize that your foundation is two shades too light. That beautiful red lipstick was applied unevenly to your lips, oh… and it is smeared all over your white teeth. That eye shadow she applied makes you look like you were born in the 80’s, and the mascara… okay fine, the mascara looks fantastic, but this is the mascara you’ve been purchasing for the past two years. Does this sound familiar? Read on. Of course, four hours later… that 16-hour, sweat resistant foundation is melting off of your face. The long lasting lipstick has transferred from your lips onto everything your lips touch, from your water bottle, to your wine glass, to the guy you were hoping to take home from the bar. Girl, you look a hot mess.

I got this dress recently from local vintage shop Hill Vintage. I am absolutely in love with it. My cousin told me I looked like a Japanese woman from the 1960s, and of course I took that as a huge compliment. I haven't been doing much lately, besides working and going to meetings for my internship(s). I've also taken on a couple of freelance jobs, and it's all pretty exciting. I've enjoyed a little time relaxing and not doing too much. Finally I got the chance to go out with my friends, and it's great. I've missed all my friends, I feel like all of us lead such busy lives, we don't seem to have enough time for each other. I'm glad I get to see them now though!

The colors in this outfit remind me of wine and cheese. I like it. These photos are from a couple days ago, I spent the day hanging out with my brother, working, and running errand and relaxing with my friend Selma. Last night I went to a Grouplove show with my friend Brooke and then we went to the Lift for martini night, it was a lot of fun! It was actually my first time at a bar. I have a full day ahead of me today, a meeting for one of my internships and working! Hope I don't get too tired.

This collage dress and palette silk dress from Secret Squirrel are gorgeous. I adore the geometric pattern, and the colors are lovely.

I adore this illustration, Ninety One Good Chinese Girls, ink on paper by Jennifer Hom. My friend posted it on tumblr with the caption, "Sea of Meanz". Some of them do look like me, I think it's the hair!

These scalloped shorts from Little Miss Pilgrim are a great diy inspiration.

I am in love with these screen printed navajo/geometric (1, 2, 3, 4) leather pouches from Coriumi. If I accomplish something awesome soon, this will be a gift to myself.
